About the Role
-Creating a suitable color scheme or incorporating the client's color scheme into the design
-Plans, designs, develops, tests, edits, maintains, and documents the look and flow of web pages and websites
-Coding the site's navigation
-Designs a plan for proposed site using combination of graphic wireframes, mockups and written material. Modifies designs as necessary in cooperation with the sales department and customer
-Designing buttons and other controls for the site
-Creating mock-ups of the site for the client's approval
-Fixing any functionality issues, including the removal of "dead links"
-Making backup files of the site
-Communicates with the sales department to determine customer needs and goals
-Creates specifications and estimates of the project and reports to the sales department
-Creates wireframes, mockups, and templates (using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) for web pages on all platforms (desktop, tablet, and mobile)
-Deploys websites to test servers
-Presents websites to the customers to solicit feedback and modifies web pages as needed
-Troubleshoots any issues on web pages such as cross browser compatibility problems on all major web browsers
-Develops all projects with a strong foundation on the latest web standards
-Codes websites with a mobile-first approach and responsive web design principles. Can code responsive websites using a framework and from scratch
-Creates deployment procedures and deploys websites to the servers at PSP or delivers the pages to the customer
-Writes documentation to describe program development, coding, and corrections
-Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, Certificate in a technology-related subject, or years of experience currently doing this job
-Education/experience preferably in web design, graphic design or computer science
-Fluency in CSS3, HTML5 and JavaScript with an understanding of cross-browser design issues and a strong foundation in building semantically correct/standards compliant websites
-Experience with design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and an in-depth knowledge of online media production practices such as web and cross-browser support
-Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and what it takes to build an engaging web experience for users
-Knowledge of SEO (search engine optimization)
-WordPress development experience
-Experience in responding well to clients' design requests
-Knowledge of CSS pre-processors such as SASS
-PHP, cakePHP, and knowledge of version control desired.
-Ability to hand-code without use of third party applications such as Dreamweaver is preferable
-Strong knowledge of FTP
-Knowledge in using JavaScript and JavaScript libraries such as jQuery if a web page requires dynamic features
-Experience with print design is a plus
-Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively
-Ability to work in a high paced environment
-Good visual design sense
